One of Brazil’s top swimmers and best hopes for an Olympic medal has tested positive for a banned substance according to the Brazilian Anti-Doping Authority (ABCD). World Record holder Etiene Medeiros was found to have traces of fenoterol, an asthma treatment drug, while submitting an out-of-competition test in San Paulo last month.

Both of Medeiros’ A and B samples came back positive.
