JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Reigning Coastal Collegiate Sports Association co-Coach of the Year, Ian Coffey announced the addition of 12 swimmers to the North Florida Swim program. The Ospreys add depth to a roster that produced one of the most successful seasons in program history in 2015-16.
“I am very happy with the class we are bringing in this upcoming season,” said Coffey. “Every event has added more talent and depth to improve the program. This is a very positive and hard working group.”
Among the 12 swimmers that will be in the pool for the fall, seven hail from the state of Florida. Coffey and assistant coach Haley Edwards also worked hard out of state, landing student-athletes from Kentucky, New Hamphsire, New York and Virginia.
In 2015-16, the Ospreys scored 470 points at CCSA Championships, the second highest total in school history. The Ospreys went on to establish, eight new school records during the historic season. In the classroom, 14 swimmers earned All-Academic Team honors, the most since the 2009-10 season.
