Over the course of the first two days of action at the 2016 Lithuanian Championships, one national mark was lowered and six meet records fell.
Ugne Mazutaityte lowered her own national record in the women’s 200 backstroke. She touched in 2:12.68 in the finale, faster than her mark set at the long course meet following NCAAs. In March, the Fresno State swimmer posted a 2:12.83.
Martin Allikvee posted a meet record of 2:12.80 on his way to winning the men’s 200 breaststroke.
Deividas Margevicius recorded another meet record with a win in the 100 butterfly. He touched the wall in 53.53, just ahead of second place Tadas Duskinas in 53.66, as both cleared the old record of 53.76. Though not in record setting time, Margevicius swam a 2:04.19 to win the 200 butterfly.
