The United States Olympic Committee (USOC) announced the recipients of six awards that will be presented tomorrow (Thursday, September 22nd) at the 2016 U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Assembly in Colorado Springs, CO.
One of the awards to be presented is the Advancing D&I Award “which recognizes the National Governing Body (NGB) with the highest annual growth percentage of underrepresented individuals based on diversity data for women, and racial and ethnic minorities.” USA Synchro has been named the 2016 recipient of the Advancing D&I Award as they had an increase of 8.57 percent for women and persons of color. These increases are based on the overall numbers of the NGB including board members, employees, NGB membership, as well as national team athletes and coaches.
