Favorite and World Championships silver medalist Cammile Adams entered this morning with the world’s 19th best time in 2:08.21. She cruised through the first 100 meters and came home appearing to take the top seed with a 2:08.29. After the finish, it was announced that she was disqualified. After a protest, and a review of video evidence that DQ was quickly over turned.
Georgia Bulldawg Hali Flickinger led the first circle seeded heat through the halfway mark. The World University Games bronze medalist touched in 2:09.20 to win her heat and officially take the second seed.
Sixteen year old Cassidy Bayer was out strong and hung on for second in that heat. She now moves up to the third overall seed in 2:09.29.
