Thiago Pereira dropped a 1:57.77 to win the 200 IM tonight in Santa Clara. That takes .14 off his time from the Maria Lenk Trophy meet, and moved him ahead of Michael Phelps and into the third spot in the world this year. He sat at number four before this evening. The swim was also only .01 shy of Phelps’ meet record.
Max Williamson touched second in 2:02.38 and Alex Liang claimed third in 2:04.81. Right behind him was a fourth place Jared Gililand in 2:04.85.
Robert Hill (2:05.34), Ethan Dillard (2:05.63), Christopher Jhong (2:06.18), Stephen Clendenin (2:08.14), and Jack Lindell (2:08.39) completed the A final.
