Texas’ Townley Haas turned in a stunning NCAA and American record in the men’s 200-yard free at the 2016 NCAA Division I Men’s Championships.
Haas raced his way to a blistering time of 1:30.46, lowering Simon Burnett’s NCAA record of 1:31.20 as well as Ricky Berens‘ American mark of 1:31.31. Most amazingly, Haas swam faster than his fastest-ever 800 free relay split of 1:30.52.
