The Texas Longhorns rumbled past the Auburn Tigers in Austin, Texas tonight in a heavily-anticipated top 10 contest.
The top-ranked Longhorn men smacked the No. 8 Auburn men, 156-136. Â The No. 6 women rolled the No. 10 Auburn women, 171-121. Â The final scores do not indicate the full impact of the meet as Texas began exhibitioning their swimmers during the 100 fly events.
The Texas women whitewashed Auburn as the only two event “victories” for Auburn came by way of an exhibition swim by Texas. Â Rebecca Millard swept the sprint frees with wins in the 50 (23.04) and 100 (50.01). Â Swimming World intern Tasija Karosas topped both the 100 back (53.61) and 200 back (1:55.86), while Madisyn Cox touched first in the 100 breast (1:01.10) and 200 breast (2:11.11).
