Svetlana Chimrova raced her way onto the Rio Olympic roster with a 57.79 in the women’s 100-meter fly. Â That swim cleared the Russian Olympic standard of 58.31, and broke Chimrova’s Russian record of 58.22 set at the 2013 Russian Championships.
Natalia Lovtcova finished second overall in 58.41, just missing the Russian selection time, while Daria Tcvetkova picked up third overall in 58.51.
Polina Egorova (58.61), Anastasia Lyazeva (59.87), Daria Kartashova (59.97), Anastasia Guzhenkova (1:00.02) and Ekaterina Shapanikova (1:00.21) also swam in the finale.
