It’s only mid-October, but the first round of high school state championships are here. South Carolina will kick off the season with state titles being awarded this weekend, a week later than planned. While the public school seasons should have concluded last weekend, Hurricane Matthew delayed the meet.
The 5A meet will be held on Friday, Oct. 14 at 6 p.m. On Saturday the 4A championships will go off at 10:15 a.m. and 3A at 3 p.m. All three meets are timed finals and will take place at the Solomon Blatt Physical Education Center on the campus of the University of South Carolina.
