Sarah Sjostrom smoked the field in the women’s 50-meter fly to open up the 2016 FFN Golden Tour stop in Amiens.
Sjostrom won in a swift time of 25.37 that would have ranked third in the world last year if not for her stunning top-ranked 24.69 at the Eindhoven Swim Cup. Melanie Henique took second in 26.02, while Anna Santamans pulled her way to third in 26.61.  Katinka Hosszu, swimming in her sixth event of the night, faded badly to seventh in 27.46.
Hosszu collected the women’s 800-meter free title in 8:31.43 with Martina Dememe taking second in 8:36.83. Â Aimee Willmott wound up third in 8:37.15.
Hosszu then threw down a 4:32.25 to win the women’s 400-meter IM. Â That would have ranked her fourth in the world last year if not for leading the globe with a 4:30.39 at Worlds. Willmott took second in 4:26.48 with Evelyn Verraszto placing third in 4:49.39.
