A week ago the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) announced that the Russian athletes would be banned from next month’s Paralympic Games.
That decision came as a results of the McLaren report which revealed systematic Russian doping. While the International Olympic Committee avoided banning the entire Russian nation from the Olympic Games, seven Russian swimmers were initially banned.
Today, the IPC announced that the Russian Paralympic Committee has filed an appeal on the ban. The case will be heard by the Court of Arbitration for Sport on Sunday.
