Poland’s Radoslaw Kawecki cruised to victory and a new meet record in finals of the men’s 200 back. Kawecki stopped the clock at 1:48.33 to lower his own record of 1:48.51 from 2012.
Adam Peaty (GBR) turned on the heat during the second session of the European Short Course Championships turning in a time of 26.28 in semi-finals of the 50 breaststroke. Peaty’s time sits only .14 seconds off the current meet record of 26.14 set by Alessandro Terrin (ITA) in 2009.
Damir Dugonjic (SLO) and Peaty lit up the pool during finals, finishing .01 seconds apart. Dugonjic stopped the clock at 26.20 over Peaty’s 26.21 for the win. Russia’s Oleg Kostin and Ireland’s Alexander Murphy tied for third with a 26.35.
