Distance freestyle kicked off night one of the 2016 Speedo Sectionals College Station as Palo Alto Stanford swept the 800-meter free relays.
Streamline Aquatics’ Ellery Parish, 17, won the women’s 1500-meter free title in 17:14.21. Meanwhile, Mansfield Aquatics’ Sara McClendon, 17, placed second in 17:17.42. Â CyFair’s Bronwyn Tuff, 15, wound up third overall in 17:42.36.
Alamo Area’s Russell Hurrell-Zitelman, 18, hit the wall in 8:33.91 to top the men’s 800-meter free. Â DADS’ Riley Carson, 18, turned in a second-place time of 8:34.07, while CyFair’s Jack Venker, 16, earned third with a time of 8:39.23.
Palo Alto Stanford’s Zoe Lusk (2:08.07), Chloe Isleta (2:06.33), Vicky Wong (2:07.22) and Isabelle Henig (2:03.96) won the women’s 800-meter free relay in 8:25.58.
