Two-time Olympian Roy-Allan Burch has accepted the position of head coach for Lake Norman Charter School (LNC) in Huntersville, NC.
Burch represented Bermuda in both the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympic Games, while training under the tutelage of SwimMAC’s David Marsh. However, a fatal knee injury in March 2015 left Burch wheel-chair bound for three months and ended his hopes of a 2016 Olympic berth. While attempting to dunk a basketball before swim practice, Burch ruptured both of his patellar tendons in both knees.
Currently, Burch still holds individual Bermudian records in the 50 (22.47) and 100 (49.29) LCM freestyle, 50 LCM backstroke (28.14), 50 LCM butterfly (24.77), and is a member of the 200 LCM freestyle relay and 200 LCM medley relay.
