Nathan Adrian entered the meet with a 48.00, the fourth fastest time in the world this year. This morning he clocked a 48.43.
Ryan Held skyrocketed upward to become the 13th fastest American 100 freestyler in history. He was seeded with a 49.17 but posted a 48.46. That time puts him just outside the world’s top 20 this year.
