Florida International continued to dominate the action in the first event of prelims. Teammates Ilaria Manzella and Kyna Pereira took the top two spots in the 500 freestyle prelims in times of 4:49.80 and 4:50.01. They were followed by Rice’s Hanna Huston who posted a 4:51.02. From there, the drop off to the fourth seed was four seconds, so these women should have an impressive race tonight.
Rice sophomore Jaecy Parham recorded an NCAA B cut to take the top seed in the 200 IM. The sophomore posted a 2:00.41. Marshall’s Caroline Wanner earned the second seed with a time of 2:02.06. Agi Bucz of Florida Atlantic is the third seed, finishing in 2:02.17 this morning.
