Michael Phelps sat down with Matt Lauer at his training site at Arizona State in a segment that aired on The TODAY Show this morning.
Phelps spoke candidly about his DUI and subsequent trip to rehab in 2014.
Despite convincing the media that he was ready before the London Olympics, Phelps now admits that his training wasn’t going well in 2012. However, he once again reiterates that he is committed now, and is actually enjoying the sport.
The segment was a part of a celebration of 100 days until the Rio opening ceremony.
