Mia Nonnenberg Paces Alabama In Win Against Georgia Tech

The Alabama Crimson Tide (No. 11 men, No. 22 women) had a strong showing against Georgia Tech to wrap up their regular season. The Crimson Tide men won 199-99, while the Alabama women downed the Yellow Jackets 191-106.  

The Georgia Tech women started off strong, taking the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:44.19, just four-hundredths of a second ahead of Alabama’s top team. The Yellow Jackets relay consisted of backstroker Maddie Paschal, breaststroker Florin Ilie, butterflier Laura Branton and freestyler Iris Wang.

The Crimson Tide took the men’s race by over two seconds. The team of backstroker Connor Oslin, breaststroker Pavel Romanov, butterflier Kristian Gkolomeev and freestyler Alex Gray touched in 1:27.26. Alabama’s B relay finished second and Georgia Tech took third.

Mia Nonnenberg led the way for the Alabama women, scoring 21 individual points. The sophomore placed first in the 1000-yard freestyle (9:58.51) and the 400-yard individual medley (4:18.99). She also touched third in the 200-yard butterfly (2:03.04).
