USA’s Matt Grevers clipped the world record in the men’s 100-meter back as he unified one of the pesky unratified American records at the 2015 Duel in the Pool.
Grevers blasted his way to a smoking time of 48.92. Â That swim broke the world record of 48.94 set by American Nick Thoman back in 2009.
That time, however, did not stand as the American record as USA Swimming had banned techsuits earlier than the rest of the world. Â Thoman posted that world mark in a techsuit.
