Lia Neal is on a roll.
After three victories on Friday night, the Stanford junior picked up an individual win in the 100-yard freestyle on Saturday, the last night of the Art Adamson Invitational. Neal earned an NCAA ‘A’ time standard in the event, posting a time of 47.76. She was also a member of Stanford’s winning 400-yard freestyle relay.
Sunday’s finals started in the afternoon with the 1650-yard freestyle event. Sarah Gibson of Texas A&M won the women’s event with a time of 16:16.92. Utah’s Bence Kiraly brought home the men’s win with a time of 14:50.19.
Janet Hu earned Stanford’s first win of the day. Hu went a 1:52.17 in the 200-yard backstroke to win the event by nearly two seconds. On the men’s side, LSU freshman Thomas Smith won the event in 1:42.77.
