Larissa Oliveira lowered her own South American record in the women’s 200-meter free at the 2016 Maria Lenk Trophy meet.
Oliveira raced her way to a winning time of 1:57.37, clearing Manuella Lyrio’s previous record of 1:58.03 from the Brazil Open in December.   Lyrio’s swim guaranteed her a spot on the Brazilian Olympic roster as well, while Oliveira time tonight clinched her a spot as well.
That’s the first time Brazil will ever have a pair of women’s 200 freestylers compete in the Olympics.
