Taking advantage of a lack of serious competition, Hungary’s Katinka Hosszu managed to win four times on day one of the FFN Golden Tour Stop in Nice today. Â The long course meter meet held all of the distance and the bulk of the sprint events on day one.
Hosszu won the women’s 800-meter free in 8:39.89 to start the day as she’s looking for some easy money here in Nice with a truckload of events. Â Lara Grangeon placed second in 8:49.65 with Alizee Morel earning third in 8:50.37.
Damien Joly topped the men’s 800-meter free in 7:56.78. Â Joris Bouchaut finished second in 8:02.28 with Paul Barascud taking third in 8:09.00.
In a surprising scheduling quirk, meet organizers held the 1500s immediately after the 800s with Hosszu collecting the women’s 1500-meter free prize in 16:55.85. Â Celia Heurtaux (17:55.93) and Lea D’Agostino (18:05.06) finished second and third.
