The two-day 2015 New York Girls High School State Championships concluded today with fast swims at Ithaca. The women of 5-Pittsford collected an astonishing 323.5 points to win the meet. It was a battle for second place with the ladies of 1-Pelham grabbing the second-place title with 195 points. 8-Long Beach were a close third with 193.
The 8-Long Beach 200 medley relay got the meet off to a quick start by downing the existing record of 1:46.14 set by Ithaca in 2006. The relay team of Kristen Romano (25.97), Margaret Aroesty (27.86), Morgan Harrington (26.29) and Joan Cash (24.51) posted a combined 1:44.63 for the new record.
