Junior National Champion Sprinter Marta Ciesla Commits To USC

Sprinter Marta Cielsa, a past Junior National champion in the 50 free, announced on Instagram Tuesday that she is committing to swim for coach Dave Salo and the University of Southern California Trojans.

Extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim at the the University of Southern California❤️💛!! I want to thank my family, friends, and teammates for supporting me throughout my swimming career. I know that this program will push me to surpass my limits academically and in the pool, with the guidance of coach Salo and my new amazing family! Go Trojans and Fight On!! ❤️✌️

Ciesla was the winner of the 50-meter free at Junior Nationals in August 2015 and then she won the 50-yard free at the Eastern Junior Nationals in December. She picked up a silver medal in the 50 free at the Junior Pan Pacific Championships this summer and also has experience competing with the National Junior Team in World Cup meets in Asia last fall.
