Perhaps the most exciting installment in the Pro-Ams is the 50 free shootout, a format where the top two seeds after the 50 free semifinals face off in one final duel. Tonight’s men’s 50-free shootout at the Oklahoma Pro-Am yielded a top-tier matchup after an exciting semifinal.Â
Josh Schneider topped tonight’s exhilarating duel in the men’s final shootout of the 50-yard free with a 19.03. The veteran touched ahead of James Feigen who swam a 19.25. Michael Andrew, who did not qualify for the final swim-off, ended up third with his 19.24.
Madison Kennedy began the 50 free shootouts with an overwhelming 21.68 victory in the women’s final of the 50-yard free. Natalie Jones trailed Kennedy with a 23.54, edging out third-place finisher Martina Thomas, who clocked a 23.77.
Luciana Thomas won the women’s 200-yard IM in a 2:03.21 in comeback fashion ahead of Cailey Grunhard. Grunhard held the lead after the breaststroke leg, but fell to second with a 2:04.95. Taylor Pike rounded out the top three in 2:06.52.
