The Big 10 divided the weekly men’s and women’s swimming and diving accolades between four different schools for their fourth week of awards.
Indiana took home both Male and Female Swimmer of the Week as Olympians Blake Pieroni and Lilly King delivered impressive swims versus Texas and Florida last weekend. Pieroni claimed two first place finishes in the 100-yard (43.25) and 200-yard (1:35.75) free, along with a top showing in the 100-meter free (50.14). King displayed dominance in the 100 breaststroke taking the title for both yards (1:01.19) and meters (1:09.05).
Kevin Pomeroy and Beata Nelson, both of Wisconsin, garnered Male and Female Freshman of the Week for their performance against NC State. Pomeroy earned his first career Freshman of the Week honor after finishing second in the three-meter (302.78) and third in the one-meter (304.20) springboard events. Nelson finished in the top three in a total of four events (two individual and two relay): 200 back (2nd, 1:58.38), 100 back (54.21), 200 medley relay (2nd, 1:41.55), and 400 medley relay (3:40.75).
