Hilary Caldwell jumped to fourth in the world rankings in the women’s 200-meter back at the 2016 Canadian Trials.
Caldwell threw down a sizzling time of 2:07.96 for the win, trailing only Madison Wilson (2:07.18), Katinka Hosszu (2:07.36) and Emily Seebohm (2:07.74) this year.
Dominique Bouchard, meanwhile, joined Caldwell on the Olympic squad in the 200 back with a 2:08.52 for the second spot on the team. Â That moved her to sixth in the world rankings this year as well.
Kennedy Goss (2:09.64) and Kylie Masse (2:09.71) also cleared the FINA A cut, but missed out on swimming in the 200 back at the Olympics by finishing third and fourth.
