Grosse Pointe Gators swimmer, Alex Hughes, has given her verbal commitment to the University of Michigan. She will begin swimming with the Wolverines in the Fall of 2017. Alex is currently a senior at Grosse Pointe South High School in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan. She is a long time member of the Grosse Pointe Gators Swim Club under the coaching of John Fodell.
Alex is a Winter National qualifier in the 100 Breast. She has also competed for the Gators at Winters Junior Nationals (2015) and the NCSA Spring and Summer Championships (2013-2016) in the 100 Breast, 200 Breast, 200 IM, and 400 IM.
Alex is the current LCM Open State Champion for Michigan in the 100 Breast, 200 Breast, 200 IM, and 400 IM.
