After a loss yesterday to Ohio State, Kentucky got back on track against Cincinnati. The Wildcat men won 195-100 and the women defeated Cincinnati 210-84.
Kentucky took the top two spots in the women’s 200-yard medley relay. The Wildcat team of backstroker Danielle Galyer, breaststroker Kendra Crew, butterflier Bridgette Alexander and freestyler Geena Freriks took first with a time of 1:44.34.
Kentucky also picked up the win in the men’s race. Backstroker Walker Thaning, breaststroker George Greenhalgh, butterflier Kyle Higgins and freestyler Cobe Garcia teamed up to take the race with a time of 1:29.75.
Crew, Freriks and Rebecca Hamperian each scored 18 individual points for the Wildcats. Crew took first place in the 100 (1:04.47) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:17.81) and Freriks won both the 50 (23.96) and 100-yard freestyle (51.74). Hamperian won both the one and three-meter diving competitions.
