Italy’s Gabriele Detti took down the meet record in the men’s 400-meter free at the 2016 European Championships.
Detti hit the wall in a time of 3:44.01, breaking the 3:45.10 set by Yury Prilukov back in 2008 at the Eindhoven edition of the meet.
Detti has been faster this year, however, with a third-ranked time of 3:43.97.
James Guy, who is the top-ranked swimmer here with a second-ranked 3:43.84 from British Nationals, missed out on finals during prelims as he’s focused on the Olympics this year.
