Femke Heemskerk and Ranomi Kromowidjojo both had strong outings on day one of the short course meter Indian Ocean meet.
Femke Heemskerk won the women’s 200-meter free with a time of 1:53.60. Â That’s just off her fourth-ranked time of 1:52.53 from the French Championships.
Hungary’s Zsuzsanna Jakabos placed second in 1:58.95 with Alizee Morel earning third in 2:00.21.
The Netherlands’ Ranomi Kromowidjojo snared the women’s 50-meter back title in 27.48 with Czech’s Simona Baumrtova taking second in 27.51. Â Heemskerk placed third in 27.97.
