In a meeting of the FINA Bureau this afternoon in Rio, the international federation considered the standards of good governance and created plans to further review these standards and the governing body’s implementation of them.
The federation will meet again in 2017 at the General Congress and may consider rule changes at that time.
The Federation was also presented with a report that provides evidence of FINA’s commitment to anti-doping. The Independent report did not find any times when FINA “has breached the applicable FINA or WADA antiâ€doping rules.”
Additionally, FINA reviewed the Games that begin tomorrow, and once again noted that the 2016 Olympics feature the most ever delegations, with 172 in attendance.
