It hasn’t taken long for Ella Eastin to make an impact on college swimming. The Stanford freshman notched an ‘A’ time standard in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1:54.53.
Eastin wasn’t the only swimmer to earn an ‘A’ cut in the women’s 200-yard individual medley event. Bethany Galat of Texas A&M made the time standard by just over one-tenth of a second and finished second in the race. Â
Stanford started off the evening with a win in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The Cardinals notched an ‘A’ cut and defeated second place Texas A&M by nearly two seconds. LSU won the men’s event, out-touching Air Force.
Sarah Gibson of Texas A&M won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:42.43. Bence Kiraly of Utah won the men’s event with a time of 4:16.79.
