It was a tough go for the Kentucky swim program as they took on Ohio State (No. 15 men, No. 25 women). The Wildcats fell to the Buckeyes by a score of 193-107 on the women’s side and 203-97 on the men’s.
Ohio State got off to a fast start, finishing in first and second place in the women’s 200-yard medley relay. The Buckeye team of backstroker Camey Rabold, breaststroker Rachael Dzierzak, butterflier Liz Li and freestyler Annie Jongekrijg posted a winning time of 1:40.11.
The Buckeyes also took first in the men’s race. The team of backstroker Matt McHugh, breaststroker Dj MacDonald, butterflier Ching Lim and freestyler Mossimo Chavez touched in 1:28.32 to pick up the first place finish.
The Wildcat women had a strong day from Danielle Galyer. The U.S. National Team member picked up three event wins for Kentucky. Galyer placed first in the 100-yard backstroke (54.56), 200-yard backstroke (1:56.35) and 200-yard individual medley (2:03.60).
