The final day of competition wrapped up at the 2016 Australia State Teams Short Course Championships with Daniel Cave of Victoria posting a new meet record in the boys 16-17 100-meter breaststroke. Cave posted a final time of 1:00.05 for the win and the record. Additionally, the seventeen-year-old claimed victory in the 50-meter breaststroke with a new meet record of 27.18.
New South Wales’ Se-Bom Lee overturned the existing meet record in the boys 14-15 400-meter IM, touching in a final time of 4:23.89.
Caitlin Walsh of New South Wales flirted with a new meet record in the girls 13-14 version of the event, claiming the win with a time of 1:10.43. The current record sits at a 1:10.40 set in 2011 by Karlene Pircher.Â
