The North Carolina Tar Heels received a commitment from one of the nation’s top junior college swimmers. Craig Emslie, who competes for Indian River State College in Florida, will join North Carolina next year.
“I chose UNC not only for it’s outstanding swim program, but also for its excellent Business school and phenomenal team spirit,” he said.
Emslie competed at the Georgia Tech Invitational in November, posting a number of best times. He touched in 52.77 in the 100-yard breaststroke and 43.52 in the 100-yard freestyle. He is the junior college national record holder in the 100-yard breaststroke.
“The Georgia Tech Invitational is where I knew I had the opportunity to shine out and set some personal bests,” he said.
