China’s Chen Xinyi has reportedly failed a doping test. Chen finished fourth earlier in the week in the 100 fly in 56.72, just nine one-hundredths behind bronze medalist Dana Vollmer.
According to reports from The Sydney Morning Herald, the 18 year old, “was tested prior to arriving in Rio and swam without knowing the result of the alleged positive result.”
It is also being reported that after being told of the positive test she took her case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in an attempt to avoid a suspension.
