While swimming exhibition as part of the women’s 200-meter freestyle event at the 2015 Australian Short Course Championships, Cate Campbell broke the world record in the 100-meter free with her split.
Campbell clocked a 50.91 at the 100-meter mark, split 24.20, 50.91. Â She then finished the 200 in 2:18.26 as she cruised home the rest of the way to complete a legal swim.
That broke the previous record held by Australian Libby Trickett with a 51.01 in 2009. Â Trickett split that race 24.29, 51.01.
