Cate Campbell broke her Australian and Commonwealth record during the women’s 50-meter free semifinals at the 2016 Australian Nationals.
Campbell turned in the third-fastest time ever with a stunning 23.93 in the women’s splash-and-dash. Â Only Britta Steffen (23.73) and Therese Alshammar (23.88) have been faster as Campbell broke a tie with Fran Halsall for the world’s textile best of 23.96 that had previous stood as Campbell’s Australian record.
