At the conclusion of the Maria Lenk Trophy, the Brazilian Aquatics Sports Confederation named 29 swimmers to the country’s 2016 Olympic swim team. These 20 men and nine women have a unique opportunity to compete on their home soil, beginning in August.
On the men’s side, the team includes, Bruno Fratus and Ãtalo Duarte who hold the world’s fifth and sixth best 50 freestyles in the world this year.
Thiago Pereira and Henrique Rodrigues, who impressively tied in the 200 IM, will also compete again in Rio, as will Leonardo de Deus, with the world’s fifth best 200 butterfly.
