Belinda Hocking shot to the top of the world rankings with a 2:06.49. Â That swim cleared her own All-Comers record of 2:06.68 posted back in 2012, and clinched a spot on the Olympic roster.
Emily Seebohm, meanwhile, grabbed second-place honors with a 2:06.59 as she also made the Olympic team in the event. Â Both swimmers cleared Madison Wilson’s previously top-ranked time of 2:07.18 from the Victoria State Championships.
Wilson finished a disappointing fifth in 2:08.93, while Sian Whittaker (2:07.47) and Minna Atherton (2:08.23) took third and fourth. Â Whittaker moved to fifth in the world with Atherton taking eighth overall.
