The 2016 Hawaii High School State Championships dove into action this weekend with Punahou winning both the boys and girls first place trophies.
Punahou jumped to a quick lead in the 200 medley relay with the quad of Lia Foster (27.00), Maddie Balish (29.00), Lyra Gonzalez (26.97), and Natassia Dunn (24.12) posting a combined time of 1:47.09. Kamehameha Schools Kapalama finished second with a time of 1:49.13, while third went to Kaiser and their time of 1:49.93.
Foster grabbed her second win of the meet in the 200 IM posting a final time of 2:06.37. Moanalua’s Aimee Iwamoto finished second overall with a time of 2:09.26 just ahead of Kaiser’s Lari Yasumi‘s 2:09.44.
