The ACC was back in full swing this weekend as 11 teams began competing in the 2016 season.
1. Louisville Freshmen Make A Statement
Mallory Comerford stole the show as Louisville competed against Florida State. The freshman won the 50 free (23.54), the 200 free (1:49.03), and the 500 free (4:51.44), and was a member of the winning 200 free relay and 400 free relay. Fellow freshmen teammates Rachael Bradford-Feldman won the 200 IM (2:02.56) and the 400 IM (4:16.39), Alina Kendzio took first in the 100 back (55.50), Manuela Sampaio won the 200 breast (2:21.27), and Zach Harting registered the fastest time in the 1000 (9:32.08).
2. Florida State Continues Diving Dominance
Freshman Cassidy Gebhart, already a 2-time ACC Diver of the Week, won the women’s 3m with a score of 310.65 against Louisville and took second in the 1m (269.63). Tyler Roberge, another 2-time ACC Diver of the Week for FSU, won the men’s 1m (330.82) and placed second in the 3m (343.65). Dylan Grisell, who was awarded ACC Diver of the Week last month, dove to first place in the men’s 3m (376.65) and captured second in the 1m (324.15).
