It was quite a day for Ali Khalafalla.
On the first night of the Hoosierland Invitational, the Indiana sophomore won the 50-yard freestyle and was also on the Hoosiers’ winning 200-yard freestyle and 400-yard medley relay teams.
The evening started off with an Indiana win in the women’s 200-yard freestyle relay. The Hoosier’s clocked in at 1:30.84. The team consisted of Kaitlin Kitchens, Gabi Rajic, Ally Rockett and Grace Vertigans. The Hoosiers’ men’s relay posted a time of 1:19.29, winning the race by nearly two seconds. Khalafalla was joined on the winning team by Tanner Kurz, Oliver Patrouch and Sam Lorentz.
Indiana dominated the women’s 500-yard freestyle. Hoosier swimmers finished in first, second, third and fourth place. Haley Lips touched first with a time of 4:39.24, an NCAA ‘B’ time standard.
