3 Top Takeaways From NCAA Division 3 Weekend

NCAA Division 3 swimming had some decent swims during what amounted to a training weekend.

On the women’s side, the Sagehens won 11 of the 12 contested events. Vee Vanderpoel lead a sweep of the 1,000 with her time of 10:58.40. Cayla Nishizaki claimed the 200 freestyle in a time of 2:02.35. She also went on to win the 50 freestyle with a 25.13.

Pomona-Pitzer also swept the 100 backstroke, lead by freshman Sarah Jin, in a time of 59.32. Jin also topped the 200 backstroke by nearly four seconds with a time of 2:11.67. The freshman’s third win of the day came in the 200 IM when she swam a 2:17.52.
