Day 2 of the Horizon League Championships yield 3 new meet records. Brie Hines from University of Illinois Chicago and Mitchell Stover from Wright State defend their Horizon League Titles and break their own meet records, while Oakland University’s men’s 200 free relay break the meet record.
Women’s 500 Free
Brie Hines from University of Illinois Chicago defends her 500 freestyle title by winning in a time of 5:50.36, dropping 3.24 seconds from her prelims swim, and breaking her own meet record of 5:50.67. Natalie Johnson from Milwaukee placed second in a time of 4:52.96 and Viktoria Orosz from Youngstown state finished third with a time of 4:53.06 dropping over four seconds from this morning.
Men’s 500 Free
Devon Nowicki from Oakland University won the men’s 500 freestyle in a time of 4:27.82. The Halverson brothers from Milwaukee finished second and third, Nicholas Halverson finishing second in 4:28.70 and Tim Halverson finished third in 4:28.10.
