2016 Pac12 Womens Championship Preview

By Sarah Lloyd, Swimming World College Intern

The 2016 Pac-12 Women’s Swimming Championship gets underway on Thursday February 25 in Federal Way, Washington. The top spot, claimed by the California Golden Bears last year, will be up for grabs as the No. 1 Stanford women look to cap off their perfect season (8-0-0) with a little icing on that cake. But the No. 4 USC women and the No. 6 California are looking to keep things interesting and keep Stanford off the podium.

Headlining the meet in terms of seeding is the Stanford freshman Ella Eastin, who is seeded first in three events including the 200 IM (1:54.53), the 400 IM (4:01.04), and the 200 fly (1:53.34). Eastin helps to set up the Stanford women nicely–they’re the top seed in every relay but the 800 free relay, which is held by Arizona.
