The CenturyLink Center in Omaha is hosting a two day trial run before the U.S. Olympic Trials kick off next Sunday. The Omaha Cup meet is a final chance for some swimmers to earn Trials cuts while also allowing athletes the opportunity to experience the pool that will soon be home to America’s greatest.
Fifteen year old Jack Dolan picked up a Trials cut in the 100 backstroke. The Rockwood Swim Club swimmer finished in 56.81, under the 57.19 standard. West Chicago’s Benjamin Patton took second in 57.70 and Slade Sheaffer of Wyoming Aquatics was third with a 57.84.
Greater Nebraska’s Olivia Calegan and Dannie Dilsaver both cleared the Trials cut in the 100 breaststroke. The two touched in 1:09.61 and 1:11.10. Splash Club’s Haley Downey was .04 short of the cut with a 1:11.53.
